THE CLARE-A-THON

So as some of you on the book tube community may know, several book tubers are putting on a thing called "The Clare-A-Thon" in anticipation for the May release of City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. This is my post stating that I will be participating starting April 16, 2014 starting with City of Glass. Happy reading :)

Book Reviews

Hello all!

I completely forgot this blog existed and would like to say from now on, this is where my book reviews go! I will be putting up a review for Cinder in a few minutes, and if you aren't in the book tube community already or are aware of it, please go look at my channel https://www.youtube.com/user/actingandmusicgeek

So far my channel consists of mainly book hauls but it's a work in progress; there are also a few book reviews. It also deals mainly with YA novels, as does most of the book tube community.

Anyway, I'll try to keep this as updated as possible which is part of my New Year's resolution for 2014. Another goal I set for myself is to read 60 books by the end of this year. The books I finished in December of 2013 are as follows:

Cannery Row by John Steinbeck
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Just One Day by Gayle Forman
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Here's my goodreads page: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/23493657-jessica-o-neil

Sorry for making this scattered, but thank you for reading this far!

Blowing Dandelions

There's something interesting about dandelions. I don't know why I'm so amazed by the grace they give as they give in to floating in the air but for some reason lately, I've been putting them into songs and even a short story for children. It's weird that it can be so appealing when it is merely just a weed and not even a type of flower as many people might think. It reminds me of both childhood and beauty, all the more reason why it gives the effect of being magical.

Writer's Block

I can't stand writer's block. Especially when everything sounds like poo.

Long time, no post

I forgot how long ago I breathed this blog into existence.

But even it being a tiny blog, I still consider it beautiful by the one post I had submitted to the world.

I really wish I could have kept up with it but like the procrastinator I am, I promised to do it later but never got to it. Instead, I write down with pen and paper because it seems more personal to me.

Let's make a pact ok? Whoever and anyone out there that is reading this blog or scatters across it in some way: leave a comment reminding me to continue on with this. In the words of my hero J.K. Rowling, "No story lives unless someone wants to listen." And I want to provide my own story.

Also, if you'd like, just ask me a question and I'll answer. I love to write so I may provide a story for this blog as well.

Have an excellent day my fellow storytellers

-Whisper Of A Laugh (Yes, Im going by this name for now. It's a song I wrote a few years ago and it's close to my heart.)

Priceless, beautiful things that transform into memories.

  • Forts made with blankets.

  • A lake shimmering with its own reflection in the late afternoon.

  • Lemonade stands on a humid summer day.

  • Old lockets with pictures in them.

  • How eyes glitter and look beautiful when they are in the sunlight.

  • Tropical waterfalls.

  • Blowing on dandelions.

  • Strapless, flowy dresses.

  • Writing songs and seeing it on paper, knowing that all those words on that page belong to you.

  • Pictures of people jumping in the air with the ocean in front of them.

  • The smell and sound of a rainstorms delicate patterns.

  • A field full of sunflowers with one single tree in the middle, curling up under the tree while the sunlight hits the top and protects you from the rays. All this while reading a book.

  • Dancing on a stage with spotlight.

  • Something secret that only you yourself can know about.

  • Friendship pictures in black and white.

  • Ancient looking swings with surroundings that look like it came from a different time.

  • The keys of a piano.

  • Smelling chocolate and caramel in a candy store.

  • The unusual world of Alice in Wonderland.

  • Kids blowing bubbles and running with fairy wings.

  • Getting lost in daydreams.

  • Fairy tales made up without taking it from another chapter of life.

  • Abandoned carousels but remembered once found.

  • Creativity unfolding.
